Oh world.

These little ladies are the best things I know.  They just own me.  They keep me young.

I got a couple shiny pins for volunteering with the youth program. I have them in my jewelry box.  But look at my face there in that picture.  You couldn’t give me anything brighter than that sharp joy.

Time Capsule

Standard

I’ll admit it.  I’m not a tidy car sort.  I’d love to be.  I’m not.

My brother Jesse is.  He’s so much a tidy car person that my messy car bothers him, from miles away.  Jesse makes his employees clean out their cars weekly.  Why anyone would have a messy car is so incomprehensible to him that he almost takes it personally.  In my own way, I understand that, as I feel exactly that way about cold weather.  “Whyyyyyyyyyyy, WHY?  Why God?  Why are you doing this meeeeeeeeeee?  Why are torturing me with collllllllllllllllllllllllllllllD?  Why must it be cold?  There’s no reason for this!”

So I have this old car that I haven’t driven in years.  And prolly didn’t vacuum out for a year before that.  I’m selling it soon, and so cleaned it up a bit.  Under the seat I found basically a little time capsule.  A trucker hat from a concert I took some of the kidlets to in ……….. 2004?  2005?

I also found a free AOL CD.  That’s right.  Isn’t that the most terrifying thing you’ve ever heard?  When Jesse hears about this, he’ll have a week of waking up in the middle of the night, and throwing up, I’m sure.  I’m sorry, Jesse.

I have GOT to start vacuuming my car out more often.

You know you wanna join us.

Coco –
Can I come through the looking glass with you?!

Valancy Jane –
Anytime, darling.
You have an official passport.
We won’t even search your luggage.
Except perhaps for fun.

Coco –
Ooooh.
Can I fill a suitcase with pure glitter and bring it?

Valancy Jane –
Well, that’s mandatory.

Coco –
Oh, naturally.

Valancy Jane –
You’ll notice that on your passport.

Coco –
Alright, but where do I put the flamingos?

Valancy Jane –
Those are carry on.

Happy Birthdays!

Dear ZezZee,

You are the strongest and the softest girl.  I love the way you know yourself, and how deliberately you live your life, the way you step with care through the crowds around you.

I love you.

Dear Coco Bean,

I love the way you dive confidently into whatever wave of emotion the tides have brought you, and how fearlessly you swim right through.  Your giggles should be bottled.

And I love you.

Dear Luca,

WHO WOVES YOUR PUPPY FACE?  WHO WOVES IT?  IS IT MAMA?  DOES MAMA WOVE YOUR PUPPY FACE?  YES SHE DOES!  YES SHE DOES!
