If Rudolf is sucessful in his quest to woo Dulce, what would I call their babies?  Rabbins?  Kitnies?  Bunts?  Kittits?

In hiding.

Whenever Dulce has to take a car ride or any sort of traumatic event occurs, she hides for a day or two. So when I got her back from Buffy, who watched her while I was in Hawaii, she promptly tucked herself into a bookshelf, wedged her head into the corner and put her paws over her eyes. This is how she deals, when life gets overwhelming. I’m tempted to try it myself sometimes.

When she emerges, she tries to make up for lost time in terms of getting attention.

Sunday night I was trying to get to sleep, but I was still on Maui time. By about midnight, I convinced my body that it was time to sleep. Just as my eyes closed, Dulce came out of hiding. And headbutted my hand.

I thought, “Aw, she missed me,” and gave her a sleepy head scratch and rolled over and shut my eyes.

She headbutted my arm.

Then my head.

She did not STOP.

By three am, I still loved her in theory but I was about to strangle her. I didn’t, because of course I understood that this was just her way of dealing with things that were big and scary to her, and how would I feel?

By four am, I was wondering if it would count as giving her attention if I tied her up. It’s …….. kinda like petting, right?

By five am I was pondering which was more absurd, the fact that I had even my head under the covers hiding from my own cat, or the fact that I had learned this move from her.

I miss my kiddens already.

Dulce knew my foot was sore.  So she sat on it and purred until it felt better.

Mau just KNOWS things.

Whenever I’m sick, Mau likes to come and sit on me.  And his little king of the mountain complex means he likes to sit on the highest point, which if I’m laying down is either my chest or my face.

But if I’m coughing or having trouble breathing, he knows, and doesn’t sit on me.  He sits next to me and headbutts my chest like he’s trying to help.

Oh and I discovered that Dulce loves Cracker Jacks, which I find adorable, almost adorable enough to keep giving them to her.
