……. and I saw a guy stopped at a light get out of his car, walk over to another parked car, and try to pull the driver out through the window.

I pulled over on my side of the road and held up my camera and pretended to take pictures.  I was too distracted to actually take them (I’m still getting used to my iPhone camera) and only got a couple sort of by accident but there were plenty of witnesses, I just figured the presence of a camera might make him wise up.

He went around to the other side of the car and started punching who ever was in the passenger seat.  I pulled a U turn and made myself a bit more obvious with the camera.

I distracted him, I guess, and the two people in the car tried to drive off, but the guy hopped back into his truck and followed.  Here they are the light, the little back truck trying to get away, the big black truck following.

So I followed, my little red car the caboose in this crazy train.

They stopped a few blocks away, and I wondered why on earth the car being chased would stop.   The guy hopped out of his car again and yelled and screamed at the two in the car.  I kept holding up my camera.

After getting this picture I noticed that cars were pulling up all around us.  Cars full of men.

Right about the time I realized I was in ground zero of a gang fight, I realized ….. hey, maybe it’s time to go.

  1. That’s insane scary! Glad you got outta there before they came after you!

  2. Yay for the safety of taking pictures in your car?
I knew that Iphone would get you in trouble…but in the middle of a gang fight?

  3. Mszig, you know the funny part, my first thought was that they might come after me and I kinda mentally shrugged, but then it occured to me that they might STEAL MY IPHONE, and that’s when I put the car in gear.

Yeah, Colsy, I really didn’t see that coming. It’s like that time I ended up in the park between a looney with a gun and a bomb, and the swat team. Life is full of surprises!

  4. oh man, twice it’s happened to me that I’d be in a parking lot, and a full blown gang fight would ensue around me. The first time one of them was nice enough (and NO I’m not being sarcastic) to shove me in my car and tell me to stay there until it was over. Of course that one was a long time ago, when they used to fight with fists not guns. The second one was similar but I shoved myself in the car and bolted out of there because by that point guns were very much part of the equation. Scary shit and you don’t want to be in the middle of that EVER!

  5. Yeah, no shit, I’m so glad you got outta there safe!

  6. Whoa! Your iphone is so lucky to have you. Hee.

I have never (and never want to) witnessed a gang fight that close up.

    I’m glad your’re okay.

  7. I’m glad too.
